MR. PERRY LEE CRAWFORD Sr., of 1806 East First Street was born July 27, 1941 to the late Fred Thomas and Maybelle Johnson Crawford in Forsyth County.
Perry was preceded in death by his brothers Albert N. Johnson and Thomas F. Crawford, and his sister Annie L. Crawford.

He attended Forsyth County Public School. He moved to Chicago, Illinois where he attended trade school for Offsetting Printing where he worked in the printing room of the Final Call.
After moving back to Winston-Salem he was employed by and retired from the City of Winston-Salem in the Sanitation Department. He later became member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Winston-Salem where he served as an usher until his failing health no longer permitted.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, three daughters, Gerlethia (William) Mason of Raleigh, NC, Monica (Abram) Bailey of the city, Amirah (Kevin) Sweatte of the home; one son Perry Lee Crawford Jr. of Raleigh, NC; two sisters Gwendolyn C. Roberts of the City and Mary (Richard) Wilkins of the city; three brothers Willie (Louise) Johnson, David Crawford, and his twin brother Jerry (Bonnie) Crawford; eleven grand children Christina (Michael) Mclean, Lisa (James) Riley, Kelvin Strange, Danielle Helms, Patricia Crawford, Christopher Crawford, Tiffany Crawford, Rosa Smith, Kevin Sweatte, Matthew Sweatte, and Cheri Sweatte; three great grand children, Ni’Lexus Crawford, Antonio Crawford, Krystalyn Mclean, and Micah Mclean; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday January 19, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm-1:00pm at the church. Online condolences may be sent to www.hooperfuneralhome.net
