Aaron Junna Phillips, affectionately known as "Plies Boy" and "Lil Aaron," passed away Friday March 13, 2026.
Aaron was born September 29, 1982 in Monterey, California, and raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, by his loving mother and brother, Patricia Phillips and Patrick Phillips. He attended Parkland High School, where he formed many lasting friendships and memories.
Aaron had a deep passion for music and was a dedicated and lifelong member of the Mo Lucas Marching Band and Boss Drummer Marching Band. His love for rhythm and performance brought joy not only to himself, but to all who had the pleasure of seeing him play. He also loved church, where he found strength, community and spiritual grounding. Aaron will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, love of music, and the joy he brought to those around him.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Collin Moore
He leaves cherished memories to his mother, Patricia Phillips; father, Aaron Phillips; brother, Patrick Phillips; a host of other siblings, aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews; his special friend, Susan Pulliman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday March 25, 2026 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-11:30am Wednesday at the funeral home. His remains may be viewed Tuesday from 12pm-5pm at the funeral home.
