Alfonza Williams was born October 8, 1949 in Florence County, SC and departed this life on January 31, 2021 in Charlotte, NC.   He was born to Elizan and Lawrence Derrick Williams.  He was a graduate of Paisley High School and attended Winston-Salem State University.  He served in the United States Marines.  He was an employee of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.

Alfonza is survived by his son Alfonza Witherspoon, daughter Angela (Jackie) Copeland; Grandson Jalen Martin, Granddaughters Aniya Martin, Kinley Copeland and Cameron Witherspoon; two brothers Rev. Dr. Hubert S. (Evang. Lula) Williams and Jacob (Cynthia) Williams; five sisters Alberta Brown, Jannie Funderburk, Eliza Spates,  Lillie Thornton and Luvenia Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and great nephews.  He also has a special supportive friend—Belinda Martin of Charlotte, NC.  Preceding him in death was his beloved son Adrian Martin.

A public viewing will be held Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 12pm-6pm at Hooper Funeral Home. Graveside services will be private.
