Obituary

Annette Wallace Agnew was born on April 13, 1942 in Winston-Salem, NC to Samuel Meek Wallace and Henrietta Brown Wallace. She transitioned to her life with her Lord and Savior on June 29, 2023 at Harris Hospice Center in Charlotte, NC, after a brief illness.

A graduate of Atkins High School class of 1960, Annette utilized her musical talents as a member of the marching and concert bands in the clarinet section. After graduating from high school, she attended Winston-Salem State University for one year, and continued participating in the marching and concert bands.

A woman of intense faith, Annette was a life-long member of the Antioch Baptist Church, lending her musical gifts as a vocalist in the church choir. Her love for her family was surpassed only by her love for God, and she shared her faith regularly and willingly by testifying of His goodness and mercy to her family, friends, and others.

In her earlier years, Annette spent her free time volunteering with the THETA Theater Company in Winston-Salem, assisting in organizing various productions.

With a love for communicating with the public, Annette's previous employment included receptionist for Reynolds Tobacco Company, and sales positions with American Greetings, Fashion Bug, and SteinMart, having retired from SteinMart in 2012.
