Annie Bell Grant Smith was born March 1, 1942 in Pamplico, South Carolina to the late Roosevelt and Alice Bostick Grant. She departed this life Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Trellis Supportive Care Center following a period of illness.

Annie was a loving mom to her five children and other people's children that she took care of and raised as her own. She loved to cook and was a very crafty person. She also loved sewing and being a creative designer. Annie was very private, classy, and sassy, all wrapped up into one. She was also a good wife, reasonable at making good choices, giving good advice, and lots of love. If you were sick, she made you feel better, sometimes better than medicine itself. Ms. Annie was quiet, peaceful, hard to anger, and very strong at heart. Even when ill, she was up and moving like Wonder Woman, but always found time to read her Bible.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Smith; five siblings, Sanders Lee, Allen, William, Nelson and Shelby Grant; stepfather, Henry Pyett.

Many Loving and dear memories will be cherished by her five children: Barbara (Jibril) Sadat, Janette (Calvin) Davis, Lee Smith, Caroline (Cuanas) McAuley and Helene (Calvin) Smith; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; her siblings, CW Grant, LC (Cynthia) Grant, Annette (Joe Nathan) Lewis and Roosevelt (Linda) Grant; two devoted friends, Linda and Bernice; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral sevices will be conducted 1pm Thursday, April 24th in Hooper Funeral Home chapel with family visitation preceding at12:30pm.
