Obituary

Barbara Jean Robinson Goodin, born on March 31, 1937, in Forsyth County to Benny Roberts and Esther Jefferson, lived a life steeped in devotion, service, and love. After graduating from local schools, Barbara dedicated her career to the Winston Salem Forsyth County School System, diligently serving until her retirement.

Her spiritual journey was woven into the fabric of the United Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, where she enriched the community as a Deaconness, a cherished choir member, the chairperson of the Culinary Committee, and the 3rd Vice President of Missionary Group #2. Her faith and commitment were pillars of her life.

Barbara's life was also marked by profound personal loss, as she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Abner Goodin, and sons Don and Ray Robinson Sr. She is also reunited with her brother, Cecil (Millie)Jefferson, and sister, Faye Nyan, who preceded her in passing.

On August 12, 2026, Barbara departed this world, leaving behind a legacy cherished by her children Barry (Cynthia) Robinson, Shelia Robinson, Hiram (Shannon) Goins, and Darlene Robinson, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, her sister Michelle Jefferson, and countless other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 12:00 noon at United Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 2745 Patria Street, Winston-Salem, NC. Friends may offer their condolences between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The community is invited to pay respects on Wednesday between 12 pm- 5 pm at the funeral home.
