Barbara J. Goodwine, age 69, peacefully transitioned into eternity on January 17, 2020 at Trellis Hospice Care. She was born to the late Eddie and Carrie Cobb in Winston-Salem, N. C. and was a dedicated employee of Salem Academy for 44 years. She was also a faithful member of Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church and was a member of the Mary Magdalene Missionary Circle.

In addition to her parents Barbara was proceeded in death by two sisters, Jackie Stewart and Linda Cobb and three brothers Robert Lee Cobb, Steve Cobb and Sterling McCorkle.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving partner Ernest Tanner, dedicated daughters Tawaanna Starnes of Winston-Salem, NC and Tracy Goodwine of High Point, NC. Three sisters, Sheila (Michael) Saunders, Sandra McCorkle, Beverly Cobb and two brothers Jeff Cobb and Reginald Cobb. Five precious grandchildren, Jamara Cobb, Whitney Goodwine-Scott, Maleah Goodwine, Christian Goodwine and Makeia Cobb, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 23rd at Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church, 900 Free Street Winston-Salem, Reverend William C. Brown officiating. Family visitation at 11:30 am with the service beginning at 12 noon. Interment will be in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
