Beloved mother and grandmother, Barbara Stanwyck Kelly Ingram ran a faithful race for Christ and was rewarded September 15, 2021. She was born September 21, 1931 in Selma, NC to the late Reverend Frank and Katie Bell McLaughlin Kelly who preceded her in death.
"Barb" was a natural born caregiver with a strong constitution and a stronger faith in God. Using her God given attributes, she completed her training to become a Registered Nurse at Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial School of Nursing in Winston-Salem after graduating from Richard B. Harrison High School in Selma, NC. Upon graduation, she worked and trained other nursing students. She enjoyed attending "Katie B" Reunions when she could to revisit those good times. During her 40+ years of nursing she was employed by Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial Hospital, North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Forsyth Memorial Hospital and Western Electric Company in Winston-Salem.
She joined First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in Selma, NC at an early age. After moving to Winston-Salem she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church and remained a member until her passing.
While in Nursing school, she met and was united in marriage to Frederick Willis Ingram Sr. who preceded her in death. Of their union they were blessed with three children.
Along with her parents and husband, her spirit has been reunited with sisters: Miss Phyllis Obediah Kelly, Mrs. Anthony Brexil Howell, and Miss Patricia Ann Kelly.
Sorrowfully recognizing her death but joyfully reflecting on her life are sons: Fred Ingram Jr., Baltimore, MD, Michael (Sandra) Ingram, daughter Valarie (Kelvin) Hazel all of Winston-Salem. sister, Mrs. Shirley K. Allen, grandchildren: Rodney Robinson, Charlotte, NC , Miracle Ingram, Greensboro, NC, Ashley Hazel (Chris), Winston-Salem, NC, Ashford Hazel (Kiane), Greenville, NC., Myaesha (Issac) Mbugua, Baltimore, MD. Kaiya Nelson, Atlanta, GA; great- grandchildren: Haileigh Hazel, Lauren Robinson, and Josiah Lynch; sisters- in-law Mrs. Helen (John) Brown, Palmer Park, MD, Mrs. Annie Searcy, Inglewood, CA, extended family Brenda (Royce) Burris and Lamont Robinson all of Charlotte, NC, Debra Henry, Baltimore, MD, Jackie Raye, Mickey Grace, Natalie (Tony) McQueen all of Winston-Salem, several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday September 18, 2021 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. he family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 am at the funeral home Saturday. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
