Beatrice M. Koger Craig Simmons of Winston Salem, NC passed away December 16, 2020 at Wake Forest University/Baptist Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by spouses, Governor T. Craig and James D. Simmons, Sr.; a son, Robert T. Craig; and one great grandson, Khalil Craig.

Born October 11, 1933 in Martinsville, VA to the late John and Willie Mae Koger, she leaves behind eight surviving children: Linda B. Jalloh, Reginald D. Craig, Laura Craig Dendy, William (Teresa) Craig, Cheri (Christopher) Lineberger, James (Kim) Simmons, Jr., Katherine (Billy) Alford, and Kathleen (Ron) Dawkins; three siblings: Sarah Smith, Martinsville, VA, Phyllis Simmons, Winston Salem, NC, and Dollie (Marshall) Meadows, Rocky Mount, VA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her remains will lie in repose on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 12pm-6pm at Hooper Funeral Home: Services: private.
