Beatrice Nevond Fulton , affectionately known as "Bea" or "Speedy Beady" transitioned from this earthly life on February 1, 2021 at the Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. Beatrice was born on July 22, 1944 in Kernersville, NC to Clifton Fulton Sr. and Madeline Mitchell Fulton who preceded her in death. She was the oldest of four children.
Beatrice was educated in the Forsyth County Public School System and attended Carver School for elementary, middle, and high school. After graduating from high school, she furthered her education by attending Forsyth Technical Community College and North Carolina Central University. She was employed by Burlington Industries as an executive assistant. Beatrice was very instrumental in the community and started the first Community Watch Program for residents living on Piney Grove Road in Kernersville, NC. As an advocate for equality, she served on several campaigns and served as the fundraising chairwoman for the Kernersville Rescue and Search Team. Beatrice served as the president of the Mitchell Family Reunion and assisted her parents with the Fulton Family Reunion. She also served as the president of the BFHIA Club which provided essential tools and opportunities to minority farmers and scholarships to students attending Carver High School.
Beatrice was a loving, compassionate, and determined woman who loved her family dearly and would do anything in her power to help anyone. She knew what was important in life and didn't mind sharing it. She was known for her cooking and gardening. She looked forward to preparing food for reunions, social events, her daughter's clubs and activities, political campaigns and fundraisers. Many law enforcement officers would stop by her house and get a cup of coffee and cake as part of their nightly routine. Beatrice was a phenomenal woman and will always be cherished in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.
Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter; Pastor Pamela Fulton Hyman (Pastor Charles) of Woodbridge, Virginia, three grandchildren; Charles Hyman II, Nicholas Hyman, and Charlise Hyman of Woodbridge, Virginia; one sister; Edith Gardner (James Sr.) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, two brothers: Clifton Fulton Jr. of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Michael Fulton (Edith) of Sanford, North Carolina; one niece; Genia Wilson (Eric) of Lithonia, Georgia; three nephews; Clifton Fulton III (Sherita) of Hoschton, Georgia, James Gardner, Jr. (Felicia) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Octavius Fulton (Angela) of Woodbridge, Virginia; one grandnephew; Case Fulton of Woodbridge, Virginia and two grandnieces; Anniyah Fulton of Hoschton, Georgia, and Bree Fulton (expected arrival February 19th) and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held from 12pm-6pm Sunday February 7, 2021 at Hooper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private. Entombment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Kernersville, NC. Services will be live streamed on Hooper Funeral Home facebook page beginning at 9:45 am on Monday February 8, 2021.
