Obituary

Mrs. Betty Jean Caldwell Adams was born January 6, 1941 via the union of her parents the late David and Beatrice McLaurin Caldwell. She departed this life Monday June 17, 2024 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

Betty was educated in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School system. She moved with her family to High Point, North Carolina and worked at two large furniture companies. During this time she gave birth to her only child, a son Tawana Caldwell. She and her son moved to Massachusetts where they resided for forty plus years. During this time she met and married Herman Adams. Betty Jean moved back to High Point in 1989 to spend time with her mother who was ill.

Betty Jean was a person who loved her family. Her favorite song was Amazing Grace and she loved to travel and fish. She was a true lover of animals and would always have various snacks for them.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only son, Tawana Caldwell; two sisters, Roberta Caldwell and Carolyn McKeever; three brothers, Preston Caldwell, David Caldwell and Daniel Caldwell.

Betty Jean is survived by two granddaughters, Theonnie Caldwell of Charlotte, NC and Genelle Caldwell of Massachusetts; one grandson, Ivron Caldwell of Arizona; three sisters, Edith (Michael) Fulton of Sanford, NC, Jacqueline Cobb and Demetrice Caldwell of High Point, NC; three brothers, John D. (Marion) Caldwell of Springfield, MA, Rickey Caldwell of High Point, NC Michael (Panissa) Caldwell of Advance, NC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday June 29, 2024 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
