Mrs. Brenda Faye Chatman Ingram was born on April 4, 1947 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospital to Mr. Willie "Bill" Robinson Chatman, Sr. and Mrs. Blanche Beatrice Brown Chatman. She gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Novant Medical Center.
Brenda attended the local public schools, and after many years of employment, Brenda retired from Family Services of Forsyth County.
She was a long-time member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she worked tirelessly in various capacities. Her culinary skills were useful with the Hospitality Ministry and Annual Fellowship with sister church, Mt. Olivet of Hightstown, NJ. Other ministries she was blessed to serve with were the Spiritual Choir, Sunday School, Food Pantry, Rap Session, and many other acts of service when called upon.
Brenda (AKA BeBe) touched the lives of a number of the neighborhood children, changing their lives by bringing them to church, counseling and by loving them with whatever they were going through. Adults also loved and appreciated her kind and sharing spirit and adored her gardening and decorating skills. Meeting no stranger, everyone was welcomed to sit at her table and partake of her delicious cooking. Her demeanor was thoughtful, caring, and she was fun to be around. A member of Grandparents of Northwest /development and a caring person, she leaves the legacy of a special mothers' love that will be forever cherished.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Willie Chatman Jr.; sister, Pauline March; father and mother-in-law, Willie and Bessie Ingram; special cousins, Tyrone Montgomery and Ernestine Nurse.
Those left to remember her love are son, Reginald R. Ingram; daughter, Willietta A. Ingram; brother, Reginald R. Chatman (Tammy); devoted sister, Jacqueline Phinx; brother, Arthur Phinx (GA); grandchildren, Jerrod Ingram, Corey Ingram, Cherielle Carter, Kirby (Bryan) Spease, Demarion (Faith) Ingram, William Ingram, Kerick Hairston; twelve great grandchildren; nephew, Tijuan March; god-daughters, Creola Harris, Tonya Atkins and Sherry Williams; in-laws, Lucy Tabron, Mildred Gaffney, Elizabeth Carter James, James (Paulette) Ingram,Josh (Tangee) Ingram; and a host of other relatives and friends too numerous to name, yet loved just the same.
A homegoing celebration will be held 1:00 pm Saturday December 7, 2024 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12pm-1pm at the church Saturday. Interment will be held Monday December 9, 2024 at Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
