Carolyn Patricia Attucks was born to the late Jesse Allen Attucks Sr. and Sarah Catherine Bridges on February 14, 1951 in Rutherfordton County, NC.

She began her early childhood education in the public schools of Rutherford, NC and graduated from East Rutherford High School. She went on to attend and graduate from Isothermal Community College. Carolyn furthered her education by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English from Winston-Salem State University. She worked multiple jobs in the Winston-Salem area throughout her life, and in recent years built a career in the banking industry with BB&T and later Truist. Carolyn was also a talented baker who shared her gift generously, blessing many people with her delicious cakes.

Spiritually, she was a devoted member of United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the choir using her God-given talent in her voice.

Carolyn Attucks peacefully passed away at Rutherford Regional Medical Center in Rutherfordton, NC, on Friday, December 12, 2025, following a period of illness. S he was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Allen Attucks Sr. and Sarah Catherine Bridges, as well as by a brother, Reginald Attucks.

The family members who survive and will forever cherish loving memories of her include her sons, Curtis (Kim) Attucks, Michael (Karon) Robinson, Christopher Attucks, Sr., Antoine Attucks; her daughters, Trilbian Pettigrew and JaKira Attucks; grandchildren, Curtis (Lilly) Bristol, Darius (Beonca) Attucks, DaVonn (Daniel) Lewis, Tevin (Katie) Dunbar, Tre'von Attucks, Asya Robinson, Indya (BeJay) Welch, Michael Robinson, Jr., Christopher Attucks Jr., Cameron Attucks, Layla Pettigrew, Kylie Pettigrew, Rylie Pettigrew, Dathan Leak, Braelyn Attucks, Jahaun Attucks, Jahmad Attucks, Yahzmyn Attucks, Aala Attucks, Aiden Attucks, Mia Attucks; great-grandchildren, Carsten Fletcher, Lyrikah Bristol, Lila Bristol, Yurriah Bristol, Yulayah Bristol, Laylah Attucks, Myla Attucks, Noah Attucks, Payton Pugh, Parker Pugh, Pearson Dunbar, Preslee Dunbar, Logan Robinson, Jaxon Campbell, Avery Attucks, two brothers, Jessie (Joyce) Attucks, Ernell (Patricia) Attucks; one sister, Patricia Brim; a host of nieces and nephews, and several extended family members and special friends.

A celebration of her life will be held  at 1:00pm Saturday December 27, 2025 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm-1:00 pm preceding the service.
