On December 26, 1968 God entrusted a baby girl to be born to David and Marie to nurture and watch her grow into a young lady, woman, mother and grandmother.

On August 2, 2025 Carolyn heard God call her by name saying "your time on earth is complete". Though she was a gift from God for a space in time it is hard to say goodbye.

Carolyn was an exceptional woman who had unwavering desires to help people. She was also the life of every family function with her ability to create laughter by her desire to find humor in any circumstance.

Carolyn was a giver. The last gift that Carolyn gave was of her being. She was an organ donor and because of this several lives were saved.

As we mourn Carolyn Bethea, we can also smile today someone is still here because of the gift from Carolyn.

She leaves to celebrate her life and legacy, her father David Bethea, Jr; her mother Clara Marie Simmons; two children, Rashawn Bethea and Tamara Fair; three grandchildren; three sisters, Victoria Simmons, Deborah Bethea and Sabrina(Charles) McCoy; three brothers, David Bethea, III(Bridget), Daniel Bethea and Kelvin Gwyn(Linda); her friend, Franklin Black; an uncle, aunt, nieces, nephews and close friends.

As we say goodbye to a life well lived we thank our heavenly father for a beautiful woman who brought joy to many and we know in our hearts people who may never know her name are celebrating Carolyn. But God Knows.

A memorial service will he held in her honor at 1:00 pm on Saturday August 9, 2025 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
