Our phenomenal, beloved Catherine Yvonne Ferrell, 71, answered the call of her Lord and Savior to come on home.  She departed this life to enter into eternity on July 21, 2022 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her father, George (Gladys) Mitchell; her mother, Eloise Mitchell; and her mother-in-love, Mrs. Frances Ferrell. She leaves to cherish fond memories, husband, Lester Ferrell; three children, Richard (Michelle) Jackson, Benita Jackson, and Joseph (Victoria) Jackson; two stepchildren, Tamicko Richardson and Ryan (Amber) Rice; eleven brothers and sisters; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

Catherine worked for Hanes Hosiery for 25 years and after the company's name change to National Textile, they moved to Advance, NC where she worked for 15 years before retiring in 2010.  She then enjoyed sitting with patients as an in-home healthcare giver. She also enjoyed cooking where her family and friends got together in fellowship to enjoy each one of her delectable dishes, where love was the first ingredient.  She had a green thumb with many flowers, plants, and bushes, greeted family and friends in and around her home. She was a socialite, engaged on many boards and groups within her church family at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. She was well loved and will truly be missed by all that loved and knew her.

She gave all her ALL withholding nothing. She fought a great fight for she is and was a faithful servant.  And we are most assured that God welcomed her home with opened arms. Thank you to the staffs of the Novant Health Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Heart, Vascular, and Cancer Center floors for services and care you gave to our beloved one.

The family will receive friends 12:30pm Thursday, July 28, 2022 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 1pm. Interment: Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Her remains will be unavailable for viewing.
