Mr. Clarence Lafayette Beale, III 61, better known to all who knew him as "Slugger", was born December 11, 1961 to Clarence Lafayette Beale, Jr. and Louise Beale in Saitaken, Japan. He passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July, 15, 2023.

Upon coming to Winston-Salem, NC from Dover, DE, he attended John F. Kennedy Junior High School and graduated from West Forsyth Senior High School in 1979 where he also ran track. After graduation from high School, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Langley Air Force Base.

His parents and a daughter, Aleisha Archie, all preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish loving memories his wife of 11 years, Weomie East Beale; his sister, Ramona Penn Raines, six children, Terra, Sireyia, and Michael Beale, Clarence Archie, Billy B. Jones, and Michael Robinson; 16 grandchildren;  2 great-grandchildren;  a niece, Erica Raines-Richmond (Derrick); a first cousin, James Hepler, Jr. (Mary), Springfield, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends especially those whom he called "The Brothers": Karl O'Neal "Butterball, Thomas McCloud "Dee Dee", Anthony McCloud "Wayne", LeBaron Rodgers "Bear", Chevalier Rodgers "Chay", Andre Rodgers "Dre", Donnie Gregs "DG", Leonard Davis "LD", Donald Young "Bernard", Chris Wilson "EZ", Rocc Williams "Rickey", Tony Jones, and Jay Rousseau "Smooth".

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Monday July 24, 2023 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:30am-12:00 pm at the funeral home. His remains may be viewed Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 11am-6pm at the funeral home.
