Mr. Clatis Carl McClinton Jr. was bornOctober 31, 1940 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Clatis C. Sr. and Aria Alford McClinton. He was a 1959 graduate of Atklns High School. Mr. McClinton was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He completed 32 years of service before retiring from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
Spiritually, he was member of Union Chapel Baptist Church where he sang on the Male Chorus. His favorite song was "I Don't Feel Noways Tired".
Masonically, he was member of Ionic Lodge #72, PHA.
Clatis never met a stranger. He was loved by all and was always the life of the party!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Clara Hauser; oldest sister Ella Hallums and niece Sonya Hauser.
Mr. McClinton departed this life Friday January 5, 2024 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center following a period of illness.
He leaves cherished memories to his only brother, James McClinton; favorite niece, Carolyn Hallums; great nephews, Jordan Hauser and Kenneth Smith; great-great nieces, TaSheila Smith, Jameela Smith, and Zakeya Abram; great-great nephew, Javaris Baldwin; a devoted cousin, Carlyle McClinton; a host of special and devoted friends too many to name; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Friday January 12, 2024 at Union Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm at the church. Interment will follow with military rites in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
