Obituary

Clem Smith Withers, Jr. was born on April 10, 1947, to the late Clem S. Withers, Sr. and Lucy D. Withers. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amber Guy, brother James R. Withers, and sister Brenda W. Moses. On October 14,2021 he peacefully made the transition from this earthly life into eternal life with his Heavenly Father.

Revelation 21 :4 was Clem Withers favorite Scripture.

"And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more
death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain for the
former things are passed away."

He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He was a 1979 graduate of Winston- Salem State University and retired
from the Forsyth County Department of Social Services with over 29 years of service.

His passion was volunteering and evangelism. He volunteered at the Davidson County and Forsyth County Prison Ministries for more than
20 years until 2019. He enjoyed driving the church van and using his personal car to give rides to whoever needed a ride to church. Clem had
a servant's heart and loved to give his time and love to others. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, family member and friend. He
left a legacy of laughter, joy, love, and integrity.

Clem Withers is survived by his sweetheart, his wife of 51 years, Dorothy G. Withers, daughters, LaSonya (Fletcher) White of Fort
Washington, Maryland, Tonya W. Guy, Crystal Withers of Charlotte, North Carolina and Tasha R. Withers, his sister Celestine Sheppard,
grandchildren; Lance (Rie) Guy of Okinawa, Japan, Lauren Guy, Fletcher Jr., Ava and Cassidy White of Fort Washington, Maryland and
great grandchildren Valerie and Jaxon Guy of Okinawa, Japan; brother-in-law. Clarence (Anna) Gilliam, sisters-in-law Caretha Gilliam and Rosa G. Curry of Calloway, Maryland, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Wednesday October 20, 2021 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:30

am-12pm at the church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.

Clem Withers will be greatly missed by all of us.
