Mr. Cortez Lenord Wilson, aka "Buddy" was born October 25, 1956 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to the late Booker Thomas and Jerry Wilson. He attended 14th Street School. He was employed as a tobacco warehouse worker for several years throughout his life.

Spiritually, he was a faithful member of United Deliverance Church of God where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed church and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Khalani Joyner. He departed this life Thursday June 5, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Angela Wilson of the home, and lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jasmine Glenn, Julia Joyner both of Winston-Salem, NC; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; stepson, Eric; four sisters, Sheila Fullard, Sabrina Wilson, Judy Wilson and Sharon Wilson; two brothers, Derrick and Bobby Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including a devoted friend, Tara McDaniel and his beloved fur buddies, Diamond, Denise and Lil Bootsey.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm Saturday June 14, 2025 at United Deliverance Church of God 1411 North Patterson Avenue. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm-1:30 pm Saturday at the church.
