Mr. Curtis Robinson Clemmons was born October 20, 1934 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late John Arthur Robinson and Arerether Morrison.

He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County schools. Spiritually, he was a faithful member of St. John CME Church where he served in several capacities.

Mr. Clemmons was a retiree of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with over 35 years of service. He later worked and retired from the WSFCS system as a custodian and Allied Security Company.

Fraternally, he was a former member of Ionic Lodge #72 PHA, King Solomon's Consistory# 64, and Beauty of the West# 36 OES PHA. He was also a member of Al Khattab Temple# 201, Lexington, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Curtis R. Clemmons Jr.; sisters, Elna Beckham, Reginal White and Delois Jackson; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Clemmons departed this life Friday December 20, 2024 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

He leaves cherished memories to his wife. Jewel G. Clemmons of the home; grandson, Rev. Curtis Downing( Nichole) of Winston-Salem, NC; great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Benjamin and Maureen Robinson both of Winston-Salem, NC; stepson, Sean Gordon; brothers-in-law, Michael (Cecilia) Gordon, Minister Larry(Carolyn) Gordon and Donald Gordon all of Winston-Salem, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends including devoted friends, Edward(Clara) Goode.

A Service of Memory will be held 11:00 AM Thursday January 2, 2025 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:30am-11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home.
