Jul 3, 1950 — Dec 26, 2025
Honoring the Life and Legacy
Daisy Mae Bowles was born July 3, 1950, in Surry County to the parents of William Bowles and Otila Simmons. She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 26, 2025, at her residence in Winston-Salem, NC. She was a mother of four children: James Taylor, Karen Simon, Sabrina Taylor, and beloved son Lanny Taylor.
In addition to her parents and beloved son Lanny Taylor, she preceded in death by her significant other Berry Todd, and 9 siblings.
Daisy served as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years and later retired from Norwood Hall Nursing Facility. Daisy was a faithful and dedicated member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church and serviced on the nursing board. Daisy looked forward to Sunday rides singing "I told the Storm." Daisy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved the beach, relaxing in the jacuzzi, and enjoying the views on the oceanfront balcony. She loved watching Gun-Smoke and the Westerns. Mama Daisy was the sweetest, always wanting to help others, and give. She was the one person who knew when something was wrong, called right on time, and reassured that God is the answer to it all and only he can deliver! Our sweet Daisy! Grandma always knew!
Daisy leaves cherished loving memories with her children: Karen, Sabrina, & James; 13 grandchildren: Dewon Jamison, Katina and Greg Allen, Kenard Taylor, Maria Lyons Legrande, Brittany Hampton, Patricia Taylor, Terrell Taylor, Katia Terry, Reginald Bullock Jaquan Bullock, Jasmine Taylor, & Savon Taylor, 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Forever in our hearts! In the words of Our Sweet Daisy "I'm about to live!"
