Obituary

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, our hearts were saddened by the passing away of our beloved Daryl J.Snyder. Daryl was born on December 30, 1953 in Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Warren Snyder and Shirley Alston Banks. He was the eldest of six (6) children. From a youth, Daryl lived with his grandmother, Ann Taylor and his mother. They both loved and nurtured him, and provided whatever they had to offer that would help him become a success in society. Daryl was a mild mannered and soft spoken type of guy. Growing up he was a peacemaker and did what he could to avoid troubling situations.

At a young age he had a passion for music and played the alto saxophone, piano and was part of a musical group called Bobby Bell. He also spent a vast amount of time reading books.Daryl attended the New York Public School System, graduated from High School and then attended NYC Technical College for a season. Daryl later joined the U.S. Army where he served as a chef. During his tenure in the Armed Forces he visited many countries, which included Germany and Alaska. Upon returning home after completing his Service in the Armed Forces, he became employed as a truck driver and drove for many years.

In his latter years he became sickly and ended up in a nursing home. By God's mercy and grace, he was able to receive the Word of God and accepted Christ as his Savior. This kept him uplifted and encouraged.

He found the peace that passeth all understanding and we, who are in Christ, know and believe that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Daryl was preceded in death by his father, Warren Snyder.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Shirley Banks, Cheryl Snyder, his sisters Doreen Snyder, Karen Barnes, Teresa Williams (Calvin Williams Sr) his brothers Wise Snyder (Maggie Snyder), Raheem Banks, a special niece , who was like a daughter to him , Taynay Williams-Washington , and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the Amazing Grace Prayer Line Members.

Words will never be able to express the way in which Daryl will be missed!
