Mr. David Coppell McIntyre, Jr. was born  January 30, 1954  in Winston-Salem, NC to the late David C. and Essie Mae Ross McIntyre.  He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County schools. Mr. McIntyre was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in construction until his health failed.

Mr. McIntyre enjoyed life.  He was a die hard Tarheel  Carolina fan.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one aunt, Bessie Martin ; one brother Ronnie McIntyre and play brother Augustus Minor.

Mr. McIntyre departed this life Tuesday October 8, 2019 at Trellis Supportive Care Center.

He is survived by two sons, Mark McIntyre of Atlanta, GA and David C. McIntyre III of Winston-Salem, NC; one daughter, Shonta Davis of Winston-Salem, NC; a host of grandchildren; three brothers, Carl Ross of Winston-Salem, NC, Lamont Ross of Sandusky, OH and Donnie McIntyre of Atlanta, GA; One sister, Avis McIntyre of Sandusky , OH; one stepdaughter, Tammy McMillan Parker of Winston-Salem, NC; a devoted friend, Richard Landrum Jr., and  a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday October 12, 2019 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm-1:00 pm. Interment will be held Tuesday at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
