Dawn Camille Whitley, was born October 28, 1966 in Philadelphia, PA, and peacefully departed this life at her home on May 12, 2026 in Winston Salem, NC.

Dawn was a graduate of University City High School, studied at Kutztown University of PA and later graduated from Strayers University in 2006. She studied for her Master's degree in Health Administration at Pfeiffer University. Dawn was formerly employed as an Ambassador at PepsiCo, Consumer worker at US Airways, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and was an Insurance Rep at Tele Spectrum.

She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Whitley.

Dawn leaves to cherish wonderful memories, her son, Darnell Whitley; her mother, Mrs. Kay Penn Whitley of the home; siblings, Sharon Gregory Eggleton, Gordan Dorsey, Angel, Karen, and other siblings; aunts, Romaine Kee-Eaton, Deronda Kee-Lucas; and friends, Cheesecake, Ingrid (Ingrie) Gibson-Porter, Eunice Campbell, Sharon C. Humphrey, Justina C. Garrett, and Tamicko Henderson.

A gathering of friends will be held on Saturday May 23, 2026 from 12pm-5pm at Hooper Funeral Home. A service will be held Sunday May 24, 2026 at 1:30pm in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
