Obituary

Our beautiful and beloved mother, Delores Little Reese, transitioned unexpectedly at home on August 29, 2021. She is once again with her loving husband, family members and friends.

Delores was born October 16, 1940 to Willie P. and Julie J. Little and attended schools in Forsyth County. She joined in matrimony to her late husband, Edward P. Reese.

During her years she collectively worked for Chick's Drive In, Marriott Food Divisions such as NC School of the Arts, CIBA GEIGY, American Express, Wachovia, Integon, and Tanglewood. As a wonderful cook, her passion for cooking grew. She later retired from New Breed Logistics in High Point, NC.

Our mother was such a beautiful and devoted soul. Mom loved decorating her home and yours too! If you asked, her ideal shopping day was to spend the entire day at Furniture Land South going up and down every inch of that store!! Weekends were spent watching sports, NFL, NBA as well as college ball with her sons and grandkids. Mom loved a good laugh and could entertain you with her quick witted manner.

Delores was preceded in death by her loving parents and husband of 23 years, two beautiful sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Reid and Mrs. Hazel Tucker; five brothers, Theodore, Walter, Herman, David Lee and Thomas Little,

Mrs. Reese will be greatly missed by her surviving family member: her daughter, Katrinka Little of Kernersville; sons, Michael Hughes of the home, William Hughes of High Point, NC, Mark (Crystal) Hughes of Winston-Salem, NC; a stepdaughter, Kathy LeBlanc of Baltimore, MD; her siblings, Mildred Sharp of Cleveland, OH, Clifford (Carolyn) Little of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters-in-law, Katherine Little and Gloria Sheff of Winston-Salem, NC; grandkids, Danielle and Justin Gadson, William R. Hickman, Edward (Julie) Reese III, Kip (Vieda) Reese, Julius (Kimberly)Reese; seven great grandchildren, Jacorie, Edward IV, Elle, Julius II, Jasmine, Kaylen, and, Kip Jr.; daughter-in-law, Marsha Hayes; along with her favorite nieces, nephews, and special friend, Rosalyn Stevenson.

The family will received friends 9:30am Saturday, September 4, 2021 in Hooper Funeral Home chapel with the funeral service following at 10am. Interment: Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
