Delores Thomas Reynolds entered the presence of the Lord on Friday, January 15 th , 2021 at the Novant
Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. She was born on January 6th, 1930 in Jacksonville, Florida to John
Calvin Thomas and Adel Brown Thomas. Her parents, 4 siblings and one precious daughter, Antionette Johnson, all preceded her in death. She married to Frank Reynolds.
She was educated in Georgetown County and graduated from Howard High School in 1946. Upon
completion of high school, she pursued higher education landing at South Carolina State in Orangeburg,
SC, where she obtained her bachelor's degree. Delores was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Inc in 1948. She furthered her education by attending Michigan State earning her master's degree in
Education.
After college Delores moved back to Georgetown, SC to begin her teaching career. In 1966, she moved to Winston-Salem, NC. Delores taught 6 th grade for more than 40 years at Wiley Middle School with the North Carolina School District and Winston Salem State. She positively affected the lives of thousands of students and teachers throughout her teaching career. She was actively involved in the ministry of First Assembly of God Church in Winston-Salem participating in Evangelism Groups and community engagement events. Delores's salvation, faith and commitment were evident in her service to the community.
Delores touched many with her kindness, wisdom, laughter, willingness to help, and impeccable sense of style.
She leaves to cherish a beautiful legacy, a loving grandson, Nickolaus C.D. Bryan (Angela) of Charlotte, NC, a Great Granddaughter, Miller Ann Bryan of Charlotte, NC; former spouse Frank Reynolds of Philadelphia, PA; 2 sister-in-law's Ella Mae Thomas of Myrtle Beach, SC and Susan Thomas of Conway, SC; God Parents Bill Grissom (Mary) of Winston-Salem, NC; God Sister Maurice Freeman (Charles) of Raleigh, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside rites will be conducted 2pm Sunday, January 24, 2021 in the Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church Cemetery, Pawleys Island, SC.
