Denise Bernadette Loydwas born on May 21, 1970 to Mary Lee Phillips and the late Junius Cornelius Loyd Sr. in Winston–Salem, NC and departed this earthly life on Wednesday January 15, 2020. She attended the Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools. Denise was baptized into the body of Christ at the Eastside Church of Christ at the age of 14.

In addition to her father, Denise was preceded in death by her eldest brother Glenn Loyd.

Survivors include her loving and devoted children: Parnell Monroe IV, Jordan Clark and   Evelyn Charnice Monroe; grandsons, Xavier and Alexander Monroe; very loving and devoted friends, Parnell Monroe III, Terry Taylor and Demetrius Chalmers. She is also survived by her mother and bonus father, Mary and Julius Phillips; six sisters, Linda(Keith) Transou, Marilyn Loyd, Angela Clark, Tracy Loyd, Barbara Thomas & Iyana Phillips; seven brothers, Thomas (Talaya) Loyd, Bryan(Jacqueline) Lloyd, Michael(Virginia) Loyd , Robert(Gloria) Loyd, Junius Loyd, Kenneth Phillips and Tobby Thomas; in-laws, Kelly Chalmers, Ryan Chalmers, Corey Cannon and other in-laws; and a host of aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

Funeral Services will be Saturday January 25, 2020 at the Eastside Church of Christ. 536 Barbara Jane Avenue Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Family hour from 12-1 pm and funeral services at 1pm.
