Dennis Wayne
Millner
Jan 17, 1955 — Aug 27, 2021
A person's birth marks the beginning of life, and the date of death denotes the day on which one is transformed from mortality to immortality; the dash between always signifies the time spent on earth, which is commonly known as life.
Dennis Wayne Millner's life will forever be remembered as that of a giver. A giver is one who helps others without any expectation of return. Givers help other people in the pursuit of their rightful purpose in life. His giving was always accompanied by compassion, caring, and love.
Dennis was the son of Mae Lois England. He was born on January 17, 1955, and a native of Reidsville, North Carolina. He attended Watts Day Care, Branch Street Elementary School, and Reidsville Senior High School. Dennis was always passionate about his calling and worked in the Funeral Services Industry which is why he furthered his education at the Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Services in Decatur, Ga, graduating in 1975.
For nearly 50 years Dennis lived to serve others through working at the Scarborough and Hargett Funeral Home, Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Grier's Funeral Service, Ebony and White Funeral Services, Long and Son's Funeral Service, A. L. Jinwright Funeral Services, Boone Funeral Home, Thompson Mortuary and many more that needed his service. Through the years Dennis also served as Convention Coordinator from 2004-2006 of FD & MA of NC, Inc., a member of The Central District, State and National Funeral Directors, and Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity.
His Christian life began at an early age, following in his grandmother Agenora's footsteps by being involved at both Little Bethlehem Christian Church in Eden, North Carolina and First Christian Church located in Reidsville, North Carolina. After moving to Charlotte, he attended St. Marks United Methodist Church and later joined Ebenezer Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Deacon in 2002, served in The Men's Ministry, and supported many other ministries.
Preceding him in death is his grandfather Walker Ford Millner, grandmother Agenora Lawson Millner, and uncles Johnny Millner and Robert "Bud" Lawson Millner Jr. Dennis W. Millner passed away August 27, 2021 in Charlotte, NC following a period of illness.
Dennis leaves his mother, Mae England, siblings Clinton Chambers, Sr. (Tiwanna) and Gaye England-McElderry (Jonathan), nephew Gregory England, nieces Ashelaye Garritt (Eugene) and Yhaynaye Brown, special friend Abbie Butler, and a host of other relatives and friends to continue his celebration of life.
Family visitation will be 11am Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2020 W. Sugar Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28262 with the funeral service following at 12 Noon.
