Derrick Devon Evans was born August 25,1970 to the late Rosalee Ijames Evans and Nathan Evans of Winston Salem, NC, Forsyth County. He departed this life on April 30, 2023, in Winston Salem NC surrounded by wife Rhonda and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents Mr. Jessie Petree and Mrs. Ola Mae Petree of Winston Salem. Derrick leaves to be cherished by his loving wife, Rhonda Taylor-Evans of the home. One sister, Pamela D. Evans, two brothers, Robert (Mary) Evans, and Howard (Patricia) Ijames of Lexington NC. Sister-in-law, Renetta (Kenneth) Aikens of Piscataway NJ, Sons, Abdull Mosley, Daman Taylor, and daughter Shamayyah Kelley, grandsons Jeffery and Julius Kelley, grand-daughter Skai Gaither of Winston Salem. Special nephews, Jihad Evans, and Christian Evans. Nieces Aliyah and Amani Evans of Winston Salem NC. Special Aunts, Mae F. McManus, Carolyn (Lee) McCoy, Patricia A. Ijames, Phyllis E. Petree and a host of family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hooper Funeral Home on Sunday May 7th at 1:30pm. Family visitation 1:00pm - 1:30pm.  with  Rev. James Rowdy of Revelation of Faith Church, 3710 Maverick Street Winston Salem NC., officiating. Repass will be held at the Reynolds Park Recreation center at 3pm.
