Ms. Desiree Washington, 83, (affectionately known as Hunny Bunny) was born in Kanawha County, West Virgina. Desiree passed away on October 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by her devoted family. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co and was also certified in early childhood development. Desiree was preceded in death by her parents Charles Lewis Johnson and Williemae Clark Porter and her son Garnett Ray Washington, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Katherine Washington, and adopted daughter and family caregiver Shelly Stewart, and sons John "Stan" Washington and Charles Washington, Winston-Salem, NC and Michael McClenon, Orlando, FL. Devoted grandson Quincy Washington (Aisha), Winston-Salem, NC and grandson Michael McClenon, II, Tampa Florida, and great grandchildren children Quinton and Nicole Washington, Winston-Salem, NC, and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends including her dearest and devoted sisters / friends Peggy Smith of Winston Salem, NC and Dorris Jones of Mocksville, NC. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carmina Eder officiating.
