Donald B.
Lowery
Jun 2, 1985 — May 22, 2021
Donald (aka DJ) Bernard Lowery, Jr. was born to Donald B. Lowery, Sr. and Andrea (Angie) Bagley on June 2, 1985. He departed this life unexpectedly on the evening of May 22, 2021.
DJ attended the local public schools. He was an excellent snare drummer on Carver High School Drumline, and he went on to play for several local bands and colleges. DJ was well-known for his ability to train dogs. He had an unexplainable relationship with his two Belgian Malinois, Bones and Ruthie. When you saw DJ, you saw him with his dogs. DJ would volunteer at The Trinity Center's Food pantry. He was always willing to do whatever was needed, from stocking the pantry to distributing groceries.
DJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ollie-Mae Wilson, and paternal grandmother, Johnny-Mae Ingram.
Leaving his memories to cherish is his devoted mother and best friend, Angie (Dwight) Bagley; his father, Donald (Dianne) Lowery, Sr.; two sisters, Latarsha Jackson and Brandi Hancock; three brothers, Derrick and Cedric Mitchell, and Deon Jones; his maternal grandfather, Jimmy B. Wilson, and grandparents, Pastor Richard (Co-Pastor Ernestine) Miller, Sr.; seven aunts, Veronica Sawyer, Crystal (James) Thomas, Mozella (Keith) Lowery, Elder Olympeia (Rick) Howell, Valeria (Timothy) Smith, Jr., Trenia (Jonathan) Samuels, and Aquilla Miller; five uncles, Donald (Caroline) Stowe, Jr., Johnny Ray (Diane) Stowe, Ishmel (Betty) Stowe, Richard Miller, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA, and Pastor Joseph (Nicole) Miller, Sr.; a special niece and nephew, Brittany Johnson, and Brandon Jeter; a great niece, Manila Williams; and a cousin, Carlos Sawyer whom he loved dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, and extended family.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021, at The Trinity Center of Winston-Salem, 5307 Peters Creek Parkway Winston-Salem, NC 27127. The family has requested that donations be made to The Trinity Center Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
