Mr. Donald Ray Thompson, 61, was born in Winston Salem, NC December 24th, 1960. Donald left this world on October 5th, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father Leo Thompson, mother Doris Thompson, and his brothers Ronnie and Kevin Thompson.

Donald attended and graduated from East Forsyth Sr. High school in Winston Salem, NC. Donald was a very hard working man, he began his career working in the meat packaging and handling business at the age of 10 years old. He worked at the community grocery store owned by a Mr. Dixon on Northwest Blvd in Winston Salem, NC. He later went on to owning his own meat market in 1994 on liberty street in Winston Salem for about 2 years. He then went on to work for Joe's Fine Food company and later at Food Lion grocery store where he was employed for over 30 years.

Donald is survived by his children whom he loved and adored dearly, (Cornelia, Sandra, Jasmine, Jayliah, And Terrance Thompson), 9 grandchildren (with an additional 2 arriving next year), and six of his siblings (Cedric ,Patricia,Brenda, Sharon, Linda, and Alice.

Donald was loved dearly by his family and friends and will truly be missed!

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Sunday October 16, 2022 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
