Mr. Donnie Ray Young, son of John Henry McIlwaine and Annie McIlwaine, was born November 4, 1948 in Winston-Salem, NC.  He departed this life on Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Donnie attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Atkins High School.  Spiritually, Donnie united with the Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age and faithfully served on the Senior Ushers Ministry and Men's Ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Jessie Frieson; brother, Roland Young; and niece, Tajunia Shepherd.

He leaves to cherish many dear and loving memories his siblings, Jacqueline Young, Patricia Covington, Roberta Jeter, Sylvia Johnson, DeArcia Young, Cedric (Shirley) McIlwaine, Dekota (William) Clayton and Denita (Darryl) Cowan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
