Doris Lee Wilson Edwards was born December 5 , 1951 in Kinston, North Carolina to Doris Fisher Wilson and the late Roland Wilson. She was a 1970 graduate of J. T. Barber High School. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Terry Cleo Edwards in 1973. They remained married until his death in 2011.M

Mrs. Edwards retired in 2009 from GMAC Insurance as a Claims Adjuster. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a brother: Roland Wilson, Jr. and sister, Callie Wilson . She departed this life Tuesday April 25 , 2023.

She is survived by two sons, Marlon( Myan) Edwards and Brian( Anika) Edwards; grandchildren: Mason, Tray, Alissa, Marcus, Braylon, and Aniela all of Winston-Salem, NC; her mother: Doris Mae Wilson; sister: Sandra(Randy)Fryar; nephew, Trice Wilson; niece, Jeanette Wilson, all of Durham, NC; cousins, Sheila Fisher and Clementine Little , Kinston, NC; best f riend, Ada Davis of Winston Salem, NC; a host of other relatives and friends .

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday May 6, 2023 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
