Ms. Dorothy Mae Polite was born May 20, 1933 to the late Bruce and Joanna Shelton Polite in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was a graduate of Atkins High School. Ms. Polite was well known and loved by all in the community, especially the kids. Spiritually, she was member of the Church of The firstborn where she was know for her strong faith in God. Ms. Polite loved fashions as was evident in her sharp dressing.

She was preceded in death by her brother James Willie Polite and two sisters, Loretta P. Cobia and Shirley P. Little. Ms. Polite departed this life Sunday February 9, 2020 at Magnolia Creek.

She is survived by her sister, Marcellette P. Crutchfield of Alabama; her brother John(Kay) Polite of the city; four sons, James M. (Cornelia) Webster Jr., Daniel D. (Kay) Webster Sr., Emmanuel (Zainab) Williams Jr., Bartholomew P. (Pamela) Williams Sr.; eight grandchildren, Kali Webster, Daniel D. Webster Jr., Derrick Webster, Bartholomew P. Williams Jr.,  Joshua A. Williams, Emmanuel Williams III, Artemas Williams Sr., and Deena Williams; twelve great grandchildren including her first great granddaughter, Ashanti Williams; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday February 14, 2020 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am-11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Walkertown, NC.
