Obituary

Mr. Earl Thomas Bridges was born August 31, 1950 in Anson County, North Carolina to the late Estella Hailey and Percy Robinson. Earl departed his earthly life on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC. He attended the public schools of Anson County. At an early age he joined White Oak Baptist Church in Morven, NC. In 1996, he moved to Winston-Salem, NC where he remained until his death. Earl was united in holy matrimony to the late Nellie Bell Bridges who preceded him in death. To this union one daughter was born, Carolyn Diane Bridges Bowman who preceded him in death. He later married Sarah Bennett Bridges and together they had seven children.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, three grandchildren, Desiree Marie Hough, Destanee Anamari Hough, and Shnek'a Leshunta Wall; two brothers, Percy Edward and James Frank Bridges; one sister, Willie Mae Leak and mother-in-law, Lillian Bennett.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his dearly devoted wife and friend of 40 years, Sarah Bennett Bridges, three daughters; Daphne Floyd (Kenneth), Anginita Ferguson (Anthony), and Brittney Snuggs, all of Winston-Salem, NC; four sons, Anthony Hough (Marie), Tommy Hough both of Wadesboro, NC; Willie Snuggs, Brian Snuggs (Ackingna), both of Winston-Salem, NC. One sister, Joyce Wilson (Fred) and one brother, Larry McCray both of Delray Beach, FL.; five sisters-in-law; Lee Arlis Archie (Richard) of Winston-Salem, NC; Cynthia Wright of Albemarle, NC; Larzetta Ross (Howard Sr.), Wanda Scott (James), all of Morven, NC; Robin Cason of Wadesboro, NC; six brothers-in-law, McArthur Bennett, Kenneth McNeil both of Winston-Salem, NC; Michael Huntley (Janet) of Albemarle, NC; Horace Huntley (Madie) and Antonio Huntley, both of Morven, NC; David Cason of Wadesboro, NC; twenty-eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family visitation will be 11:30am Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019 in the Hooper Funeral Home chapel with the funeral service following at 12 Noon.
