Edgar "Keith" Horne, a devoted husband and father died January 17th, 2024, at the age of 68 years old.
Edgar is a native of Winston-Salem, NC. He graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1973, and Forsyth Technical Community College. On March 30, 1974, he married the love of his life Bernice. Bernice and Edgar have been married for 50 wonderful years. Edgar also enlisted in the United States Army from 1975-1978. Other important dates in Edgar and Bernice's lives were June 13, 1974, April 1, 1980, and August 16, 1985, the dates they welcomed their sons and daughter into this world.
Edgar was a devoted father and an avid cook. He loved painting and drawing and was a movie enthusiast. Edgar loved videography, many special occasions hosted by family and friends, he recorded and stored as special memories in his safe keeping. Edgar was a genuine man, who was easy to talk to. He offered wisdom that will last far beyond his passing. His kind spirit and infectious personality will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Edgar is survived by his mother, Ida Massey Horne; his wife, Bernice Horne; his siblings Carla Mason; Rhonda (David) Padgett; and Ricky (Pamela) Horne. His children Bryant Horne; Brandon Horne; and Shannon (Jonathan) Drummond. His grandchildren, Anthony Horne; Russell Mitchell "Jr", Brandon E. Horne; and King Horne. He is predeceased by his father Edgar Horne; his sisters Edwina Gail Horne-Matte and Vicki Horne Miles; and his son Kedrick Larmar Horne.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am on January 24th at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am-11:00 am at the church. Interment will be held 9am Thursday January 25, 2024 at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
