Edna Mae Greggs departed this Earthly life in her home on December 21, 2023. Edna was born on October 1, 1938, in South Carolina to Isaac Nimmons and Katherine M. Showers. Raised by her Grandmother, Octavia Moncrief, Edna was educated in the Denmark Public School System and Graduated from Voorhees College. On March 7, 1957 she wed Mr. Isaac Greggs and they spent 43 years together until God called Isaac home. The couple moved to Winston-Salem where Edna began her career with the United Way and Forsyth County School system. She was Employed at The Children's Center for over 35 years. Edna loved working with physically handicapped children, watching them grow and evolve. Some of her favorites she would go visit even after they had Graduated. She often spoke of many of the children as if they were her own.

Edna Mae Greggs was a faithful member of First Calvary Baptist Church for 57 years. She was an active member of the Choir, The Missionary Circle, and after retirement, she served in Culinary Arts.. Edna Mae served faithfully until she was unable to attend. Edna Mae loved to cook and bake, her life's joy was seeing people fellowship and enjoy themselves.

She leaves to cherish her memories 2 children-Donnie (Hazel) Greggs, of the city, Kathy Greggs of the home. 5 Grandchildren-Tasha Greggs, Shanice Dixon, Donnie Greggs II, Shyniqua Brown, and Nykhema Brown. 2 Great Grandchildren-Todd Lewis and Quenell Cundiff. 2 Aunts-Lady Vernice Nimmons Bell of Saracuse, NY; Elsie Moncrief Donaldson of Denmark, SC;  A devoted niece and caregiver-Chaka Perry; 2 Godsons-Eddie Carpenter and Isaac LeSaine, and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends 11:30am Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at First Calvary Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 12pm. Interment: Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
