Mrs. Edna Helen Jackson Glenn 85, of Winston Salem, North Carolina was born July 15, 1938 in Forsyth County to the late Thomas T. Jackson and Mildred Ferguson Jackson Schuler. Mrs. Glenn went to her heavenly home on Thursday June 6, 2024 after an extended illness at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was educated in the Forsyth County school system, graduating from Carver High School class of 1957. She was employed at Bethlehem Community Center for more than 20 years until her retirement.
Mrs. Glenn was a member of the Carver Alumni and WSSU Hoops Club. She was a member Bethania AME Zion Church of Winston-Salem, NC.
Mrs. Glenn is proceeded in death by her husband Essie B. Glenn, her son Arturose Glenn, grandchildren Monte Glenn and Dejournea Glenn, great grandson Willaim Miller Jr, her parents Thomas T. Jackson and Mildred Ferguson Jackson Schuler, brother Thomas R. Jackson.
She leave to cherish her loving memory children Audrey (Moses) Billings, Annette Glenn of Winston-Salem, Ricardo (Annette) Glenn, of Kernersville, Angela Walters of Winston-Salem, Andrea Cheeks of Rural Hall, Christopher (Latrice) Cole of Detroit, Mi, Latonya Glenn, Michael Glenn, Darrell Glenn all of Winston-Salem, Kenya Glenn of Kernersville, Yantami Glenn of Winston-Salem, 21 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, 2 sisters Darlene Jackson and Sharon Jackson both of Winston-Salem, 1 brother Teddy Moore of Winston-Salem and host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A devoted friend Carolyn Johnson and companion Clifton (B.B.) Vernard Bowie.
A celebration of her life will be held 12:00 noon Friday June 14, 2024 at Bethania AME Zion Church, 2120 Bethania Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, NC. The family will receive friends from 11am-12pm at the church. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Her remains may be viewed Thursday June 13, 2024 from 1pm-6pm at the funeral home.
