Elijah Maurice McNeil, born on January 20, 1962, in Winston-Salem, NC, to the late Otis and Bernice McNeil, affectionately known as "Sweets," peacefully passed away on April 21, 2024, at home. Elijah was a devout member of Kairos Church, where he faithfully served as an usher until his illness prevented him from doing so.

Elijah was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Maurica McNeil, his brothers Roosevelt, Otis and sister Bessie.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie McNeil, and leaves a legacy of love through his five daughters:  Katie (Joey), Keela (Reggie) Lynora (Kyheem), Gelexia, and Mahonda. Elijah also adored his six granddaughters: Na'sha, Lauryn, Arianna, Jamauria, Jakira, and Kailyn. He is also survived by his siblings: Frankie McNeil, Margaret Adeware (Pastor David), Carolyn Patino (Roberto), Margaret Bethea, and Pastor Helen Bridges, as well as a host of cherished family and friends.

Elijah's presence in the lives of those he touched will be deeply missed, but the created memories will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration in the days ahead.

A service honoring the life of Elijah Maurice McNeil will be held 1:00 pm Thursday April 25, 2024 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home.
