Eliza Ann Alexander Gardner was born Jan. 31, 1948 to the late Javan and Daisy Alexander in Spartanburg Co., SC.

She attended the WSFC public schools and was of the Baptist faith. Eliza was a domestic worker for over forty years for Dr. Steve and Nia Lowe family. While she bore no children of her own, she was a second mother figure to her many nieces, nephews, and was a Godmother to Annette Lowe and Ben (Jenna) Lowe whom survive her.

In addition to her parents, Eliza was preceded in death by her husband Lorenza Gardner, sisters: Julia Young, Daisy Alexander, and her brother John Young.

Cherishing fond memories are her devoted sister and caretaker, Nancy (Lewis) Fleming of the home; sisters, Wanda (DarryL) Green and Tracy (David) Johnson; her brother, Anthony Jefferson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends 11:30 am Friday, Feb. 14th in Hooper Funeral Home chapel with the funeral service following at 12 PM.
