Elsie Dendy Walker was born on March 18, 1953, to Nina Dendy. She was raised in Winston-Salem, NC, and was a 1971 graduate of North Forsyth High School.

Elsie was an employee of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist (formerly Baptist Hospital). She retired on June 19, 2015, after 39 years of service as a Telemetry Technician.

Elsie was a faithful and devoted member of Praise Assembly Church Ministries, Inc. until her health declined. She was a very devoted missionary, always caring and checking on others. This was Elsie's passion.

Elsie is preceded in death by her mother, Nina Dendy, play mothers, Rebecca D. Hill and Elizabeth Williams, and brothers, Harold Lee Ijames, and Roy Larry (Lynette) Dendy. Her daughter, Stephanie D. Brown, her mother-in-law, Sallie A. Walker, and aunt-in-law Willie Mae Coleman.

Memories of Elsie will always be cherished by her lovely daughters, Ta'Sheka (Kelvin) Brown, Nae'Meka Walker, and Candice Walker, a close friend and father of her daughters, Stephen Walker, a son-in-law, Antwon Brown. Four lovely granddaughters, Ja'Mise Walker-Brown, MeKayla and Michelle Brown, and Leila Walker-Davis. A lovely niece, LaShon (John) Dendy. God-daughters, Nitika Lockhart, Jasmine Stinson, and Meka McGriff.

Elsie had special friends, Rose (Craig) Neal, and Joyce (Dave) Faircloth along with many others, including her church family. There are a host of other extended family and friends whose lives were touched by Elsie as well.

Funeral services will be conducted 12pm Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at Praise Assembly Church with family visitation preceding at 11:30am.
