Ervin Lester Lewis died October 12, 2023 in Greensboro, NC following a period of illness. A native of High Point, NC, he was a veteran of the US Army and a retiree of RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George David and Pearl Williams Gray; a son, Ervin Lester Lewis, Jr.; sisters, Darnella Frazier, Dorothy Dillard, Pearlie Lee Huntley, and Rosa Lee Hines; brothers, Ernest and George Lewis, and George David Lewis, Jr.

Survivors include his children, Evette Lewis, Elvedo Lewis, Earnest (Nayeter) Lewis, Eric Lewis, Evonne Thomas, David (Tiffany) Jones, Lester Jones, and Nathaniel (Eva) Norwood, all of Winston Salem; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews including a special nephew, Wardlow Frazier; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 in Hooper Funeral Home chapel with family visitation preceding at 12 Noon. Interment: 1pm Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
