Mrs. Evelyn Connitta Lindsay McIntyre, 83, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, while in the care of Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kernersville, NC.

Evelyn was born on April 13, 1941, to the late Ben and Elizabeth Lindsay. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry McIntyre; son, Reginald Lindsay; two sisters, Blundia Lindsay and Gwendolyn Lindsay; and brother, Ben Lindsay Jr.

Our beloved Evelyn attended Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools. She retired from Forsyth Memorial Hospital after over 30 years of employment.

Evelyn enjoyed family gatherings, traveling to casinos and listening to her good music.

Loved by all and left to cherish her memories are daughters, Carolyn Ewing, Cynthia Worthy, Cyrena (Kelvin) Burton, and Hattie Williams; two sisters, Priscilla Rawlinson and Angela (Robert) Tingle; five grandchildren, Brian Lindsay, Sequilla (Michael) Griffin, Cherreik Lindsay, Monique Ewing, and Sable Lindsay; four great grandchildren, Xavier, Bryson, Kaiya, and Najee; a host nieces and nephews that she loved dearly (Tyrone, Tracy, Keshea, Carrenthia, Tia, Tempestt, Denaiya, and Zuri); cousins and friends.

The family sincerely thanks the staff of Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation for the love and dedicated care to our beloved Evelyn McIntyre.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 Family visitation 12:30pm – 1pm in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home
