Francine Elaine Cole Maddox was born May 8, 1959 to Frances B. and Joel Cole Sr. in Winston-Salem, NC. She worked for a number of years for RJ Reynolds Tobacco and TYCO (formerly AMP). Spiritually, she was a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir. She loved to sing "I need a little more Jesus" among other songs.
Ms. Maddox was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Maddox Sr. She departed this life Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center following a period of illness.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Katina M. Johnson (Nasion); her parents, Joel Cole Sr. and Frances B. Cole; three grandchildren; stepchildren of the city; a number of stepgrandchildren; two devoted brothers, William and Joel Cole, Jr. of the city; aunts, Ruby Griffin, Ann Galloway, Emma Ingram, Louise Ross, and Gwendolyn A. Cole all of the city; a host of in-laws from Shelby NC, cousins, other relatives and friends
A special thanks to the ICU Second floor Forsyth Nurses and doctors; also caregivers, Janie Huey, Delores Leecost, Swannetta Stowe for their great care; H&M transportation, Deacon Belving and the Sunday school of the church for showing their support and love.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Second Calvary Baptist Church, New Walkertown Road Winston-Salem, NC 27101 in her memory.
Public viewing will be held from 1pm-6pm Thursday April 9, 2020 at Hooper Funeral Home.
In light of the virus, a private graveside will be held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Donald Stowe Jr. officiating.
