Geraldine "Gerri" Clayton, was born January 23, 1946 in Pfafftown, North Carolina to the late Roscoe Clayton and Mildred Spann. Gerri went to her heavenly home from Trellis Supportive Care, January 11, 2024.

While our hearts break and miss her, we know that she had an exciting reunion with her loved ones in heaven.

In addition to her parent's death, she was preceded in death  by her step-father, Hazel Spann; grandparents, Arthur & Florence Bratcher; sisters, Hazel "Polly" Burroughs, Dorothy Draper; niece, Robin Kelly; and great nephew, Dashawn Morgan.

Gerri attended Atkins High School, class of 1965 (Go Camels).  In 1973, Gerri moved to Pontiac Michigan to be with family; she began her professional career with General Motors where she retired from.

She was a faithful member of First Calvary Baptist Church. Her life's joy was seeing people, fellowshipping, bowling, dancing and visiting the Winston –Salem Local Sweepstakes.

She leaves to cherish dear memories, step-sister, Jackie Pender; nephew, Dessir Burroughs; nieces, Dr. Lisa Hodges, Yuvette Jefferson, Renee (Leo) Edwards, Pam Morgan; raised as her granddaughter, Rolanda (Delvin) Peet; and devoted cousin and caregiver, Leon Massey; a host of other great nieces, great nephews, cousins, godchildren that she loved dearly, and many friends across multiple states.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday January 20, 2024 at First Calvary Baptist Church 401 Woodland Avenue Winston-Salem, NC . The family will receive friends from 11:30 am-12:00pm at the church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Her remains may be viewed Friday January 19, 2024 from 11am-6pm at the funeral home.
