Norris
Jul 16, 1940 — Jan 25, 2023
Mrs. Glenda Fern Hooper Norris 82, of 2570 Wynbrook Drive, Winston-Salem, NC entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her residence. Glenda was born on July 16, 1940 in Boone, NC to the late Alexander and Ruth Hooper. She was the fourth child out of eight children to this union.
Glenda received her education in the Watauga County School System. Her employment includes Klean Rite Cleaners and Novant Hospital. She retired from Novant Hospital.
Glenda was an advocate of God. Her faithfulness to Macedonia Holiness Church of God of the Apostolic Faith, Inc for 65 years, showed it. She served on the Missionary Society and was an advisor for the Junior Missionaries. She was also, a member of the Sisterhood, Pastor's Aid and the Usher Board. Glenda sang on the Choir which was one of her many gifts.
Her family meant the world to her. Spending quality time with them gave her great joy. The laughter, fun and cutting up with them always put a smile on her face. Hanging out with her friends, shopping, and going out to eat put pep in her step. On every first Saturday, she would go to Goler Manor for their fun days with others within the apartment community. Playing Bingo and Dominos was her thing. But most of all she loved attending church.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; a loving husband, James Frances Norris; sisters, Etta Hayes, Pearlie Wilson and Flora Wilson; sister-in-law, Mammie Wilson and a grandson, Boyd L. McConniehead.

Brown (Steve), and Caroline N. Dickerson (David) all of Winston-Salem, NC; her son, Thomas Lee McConniehead, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Lynn Ruth Hester (Gerald) of Mebane, NC, Carrie Stevenson of High Point, NC, and Sally Hooper Carlton (Ed) of Boone, NC; one brother, Columbus Wilson of Taylorsville, NC; one special friend, Ms. Winnie of Winston-Salem, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
