Mr. Grant Lorenzo Young was born June 6, 1933 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late Ulysses and Ruth Warren Young. He attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County public schools. Mr. Young was a soft spoken, yet comical and outgoing person and was a very stylish man who loved to wear his many different hats and caps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Juanita Haywood and two brothers, Woodrow and Benjamin Young.

Mr. Young departed this life Saturday December 18, 2021 at the Silas Creek Rehabilitation Center.

He is survived by his wife, Lula Young; one son, Lorenzo Grant Wilborn, Winston-Salem, NC; three daughters, Cheryl James, Robin Byers (William Richardson), all of Winston-Salem, NC,  Connye Young, Kernersville, NC; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren; sisters, Emma Young and Myrtle Hash, both of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 28, 2021 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home, with family visitation preceding at 1:30pm. Interment: Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. His remains may be viewed Monday, December 27, 2021 from 12pm-6pm at the funeral Home.
