Obituary

On April 18th 2025, Good Friday, Harold Marvin Penn Jr. had a peaceful transition into eternity.

Born in Winston-Salem North Carolina January 30, 1954 to Annie Mickle McRae and the late Harold Penn Sr.,  Harold lived a full and blessed life.

He graduated from East Forsyth High School where he played football. He also attended  Atkins High School and was a member of  the  forgotten classes of Atkins high School. He was an alumni of two high schools.

He served in the United States Army. After serving his country he worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco as a technician.

Mr. Penn later relocated to Indianapolis Indiana where he became an ordained minister He then retired as a professional truck driver and moved to Charlotte NC. While there he joined " In Joy Ministries" and served whole heartedly.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by sisters Jocelyn and Pamela Penn; granddaughter, Dana Penn; two stepchildren, Cynthia Levell and Rochester Milam;and sister-in-law Melanie Penn.

He leaves cherished memories to his devoted wife of the home, Callie Penn; loving mother Annie McRae;children  Harold "Peanut" Penn Jr., Tiffiney Penn and her mother Tryphosia; stepchildren Gerald, Jeannetta and Michelle; a host of grandchildren including Madaja,Makyla,Marquis; loving sister Melba Massey; , brothers Michael Penn and Byron(Sonya) Penn; aunts Aundrea Bush, Lillie Mickle and Dorothy Mickle; and his cuz "Hotrod" JGM; and a host of other relatives an dear friends

Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Sunday April 27, 2025 in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm-2:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home. His remains may be viewed Saturday from 11am-5pm at the funeral home. Interment Monday April 28, 2025 at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
