The family of Herman Fulton Jr. 64, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina is saddened to announce his passing on Saturday April 25, 2026. Herman was the youngest of three children born to Lelia Margaret Ross Rhinehart Fulton. He grew up in Winston-Salem and was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County public school system and graduated from East Forsyth High School. Herman studied at Fayetteville State University and went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Winston Salem State University. He also received a degree in computer science from Forsyth Technical Community College.

Herman dedicated his career to investing in North Carolina's youth, working faithfully at local colleges-Guilford Technical, Guilford College and Forsyth Technical, teaching computer tech skills.  He had a deep love for animals and worked part-time at PetSmart during his retired years to support Winston-Salem's pet community. Herman cherished his pack of five rescue dogs of German Shepherds and Huskie who were tenderly cared for by him until his last day. He had a warm heart and kind spirit which undergirded the full-time caregiving he provided his mother Lelia Fulton, in her final years.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents Herman Fulton Sr. and LelIa Fulton.

He is survived by his brothers Kenneth Rhinehart (Vicki) of Kernersville, NC and David Rhinehart of Winston Salem, NC; his sister, Hermione C. Irving of Winston-Salem, NC; his nephew Phillip Rhinehart (Beth) of Hillsborough, NC; step nieces, Pamela Stovall-Lee(Javon) of Clemmons, NC and Safia Mohamoud of Washington, DC; along with numerous cousins and extended family.
